About OREIA - Protecting Oregon Consumers

The Oregon Real Estate Inspectors Association (OREIA) is a non-profit organization of professional independent home inspectors. OREIA was instrumental in the development of the Oregon Standards of practice for home inspectors.

The process of buying a home can be an exciting experience, but it can also be a frustrating and anxiety inducing experience. It's important for homebuyers to have a team of real estate professionals to help guide and advise them through this somewhat perilous process. The largest home inspectors association in Oregon, OREIA sees the home inspector as being a crucial part of this team.

Protecting Oregon Consumers is OREIA's motto, and our members take it very seriously. That's why one of OREIA's primary missions is to promote increased professionalism among its members and within the industry as a whole. Sponsorship of training sessions, seminars, and meetings of the general membership and other interested individuals, are integral facets of this program. When home buyers choose home inspectors from among those listed on the OREIA Member List they can be confident that:

• All inspectors listed are OREIA members.
• Each inspector has successfully completed the tough home inspector certification test administered by the Oregon Construction Contractors Board, and has been issued the designation of Oregon Certified Home Inspector by the CCB.
• All inspectors listed have verifiable field experience in the performance of home inspections.
• All listed individuals, in order to maintain their membership status in OREIA and their Oregon Certified Home Inspector credentials, attend educational classes and earn continuing education credits on an ongoing basis.
